Risa Oribe, also known as LiSA is a 33 year old (born June 24th, 1987) Japanese song writer, Singer, and Lyricist from seki gifu, and currently works for sacra Music under Sony Music Artists.
Background[]
In her early life she was aspired to become a musician. She took piano lessons at the age of three, and would soon take dance and vocal lessons, which stuck with her junior high school years. While she was in elementary, she participated in an audition held at the Nippon Budokan,and it was during this time she knew she wanted to become an artist. In high school she participated in a band she formed which covered some songs by Avril Lavigne, Love Psychedelics, and Ego Wrappin'. Her musical career began as a vocalist for the indie band Chucky. After the disbandment in 2005, LiSA moved to Tokyo to begin her solo career, having her first debut in 2010 for the anime television series Angel Beats! As one of the two vocalists for the fictional band Girls Dead Monster. LiSA later on made her first mini album, Letters to U in April 2011. Her first performance was at the Antimelo Summer alive in August 2010, then Anime Expo in 2012, and then was a regular guest at Anime Festival Asia. LiSA's songs were featured as theme music for many anime,for example, Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Her singles were regularly in the top ten for the Oricon weekly charts. She had a performance at the Nippon Budokan in 2014-2015. In 2015, she had a acting debut as Madge Nelson in a Japanese dub version of the animated film, Minions. To celebrate her fifth year as a solo artist, LiSA released her letters To U EP as a limited edition LP on March 23, 2016. She then would go on to release a mini-album titled Lucky Hi Five! On April 2016. She released a song called "Brave Freak Out", which was used in the first opening theme to the 2016 anime, Qualidea Code. The single also included the song "AxxxiS", which is used for the second opening theme for Qualidea Code, on August 24th, 2016. She soon released the single "Catch the Movement" on February 15th, 2017; the song was used for the theme song of Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale.
